Time to laugh - I found the Wanda Sykes clip from Jay Leno last week. Click here to watch - it is free. http://www.nbc.com/The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno/video/episodes.shtml
You can watch just the "chapter" with her appearance. Click on the episode from 2/28.
And for your Project Runway fans, a new show featuring "the gang" as portrayed by SNL. Click here for the two minute clip. Amy Poehler is "fierce" as Christian!
I forgot to tell you about a few movies I watched, or tried to watch over the weekend. One was the indie hit "Watiress" and I am disappointed to tell you that despite a great cast including one of my faves, Jeremy Sisto, I just could not get through it. The misogyny vibe was too much for me. Saturday night DH was out so I wanted a good chick flick along the lines of Holiday or In Her Shoes or something, so you may be surprised that I caught No Reservations on PPV. Even though I knew it starred my nemesis, Catherine Zeta Jones. I thought, how bad can this be? I've got some wine, I like Aaron Eckhart, and that girl from Little Miss Sunshine is in it.
The answer is the movie is AWFUL. Ironically, the one thing that did work for me is Catherine Zeta Jones because I believed her completely unlikeable character. I was emabarrassed for Eckhart - check out Thank You for Smoking if you want to see a truly good performance, and while Abigail Breslin was the best thing about the movie it was sad. I had to double my wine intake to get through it. Don't watch it! Not even worth having in your Netflix queue.
You are better off to watch Anthony Bourdain's show on tv - No Reservations. Have that set on the DVR and when I need an hour or so of really good travel, philosophy, food, and fun, can't miss with him!
I have "No Reservations" on my Netflix list, so I appreciate the warning. (Is it just me or is it getting very difficult to get your choices on Netflix?? I've had No Reservations in the queue at #3 for a couple of weeks, American Gangster at #2 since the day it came out and No County For Old Men now at #1, but received my #4 choice today!! That is not what I signed up for.) I think I will remove it.
I saw "The Waitress" on a plane on the way to the west coast. I needed to watch the movie to break up the unpleasant over-stuffed flight, but it was torture. I had read good reviews and I don't understand why. I have seen "Gone Baby Gone", "The Darjeeling Limited" and "The Brave One" in the last couple of weeks and really only recommend...and barely...."Gone Baby Gone." DH was not impressed on that one with Ben Affleck's direction.
