Best Menopause Article Ever

The current copy of Newsweek has about the best article I've run across dealing with menopause:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16499511/site/newsweek/

Especially accurate is the description of a hot flash. I made DH read it. I also don't take hormone replacement therapy, and agree that soy can help. However, there isn't a miracle cure because they don't really know exactly what causes them! Of course they don't. Men don't get them. However, according to the article, they just might get men's menopause. All I have to say is, welcome to the club!

Audrey Hepburn's Beauty Secrets

AUDREY HEPBURN’S BEAUTY SECRETS

This is a poem that Audrey Hepburn shared with her family just weeks before she died:

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

We leave you a tradition of the future.  The tender loving care of human beings will never become obsolete.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, redeemed and redeemed and redeemed.  Never throw anyone away.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand you’ll find one at the end of your arm.

As you grow older, you’ll discover that you have two hands:  one for helping yourself, the second for helping others.

You’ve great days still ahead of you.  May there be many of them.

Cancer diagnosis - what to do?

Here is the link to a website that points you in the direction of what to do when a friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

It was sent to me by a close frind who had a breast cancer diagnosis, and believe me, if she says it is good, it has passed a stringent test! She knows more about it than anyone I know.
